Treasurer Stu Reck enlisted in the US Army in April, 1971. Went to basic training at Ft. Jackson, South Carolina. Upon completing this training, he went to my advanced training at Ft. Sam Houston, San Antonio, Texas. Upon arrival he spent two weeks in training as a Medic before beginning his assigned training as a Pharmacy Technician. During this medical training he was appointed as the Assistant Class Leader to oversee the daily completion of class duties. Upon completion of this class he was assigned to move on to Ft. McClellan in Anniston, Alabama as permanent party at Noble Army Hospital. After arriving there, Stu took on a temporary assignment in the Physical Examination Section as a medic. Stu received orders twice while assigned at Ft. McClellan to go to Vietnam and those orders were cancelled twice. Orders were then received to go to Yong San in Seoul, South Korea.

During his time in Korea Stu was a Pharmacy Tech at the 4077th Animal Hospital as well as the Medical Supply NCO for the unit. He also trained as a Veterinary Technician for the unit to assist in animal surgeries and examinations. Stu was then assigned to the 150th Field Hospital in Taegu where he operated the dispensary’s pharmacy. His final assignment was at the 548th Dispensary in Yong San where he was in charge of the second busiest pharmacy in Korea. Stu separated from the Army in November, 1973. This is Stu’s 3rd year as the Chapters Treasurer.
