Senior Vice Michael Crowe USAF, was born in Chicago, Illinois where he entered the US Air Force on November 9, 1966. After about 2yrs of training, he was ordered to Bien Hoa Airbase, Republic of Vietnam in July of 1968. Michael volunteered for many activities, including flying door gunner on an Army helicopter and an Air Force 01-E forward air controller aircraft over the heavily VC-infested Mekong Delta south of Saigon. He was also awarded the Base Airman of the Month in March of 1969, which made the Pacific Stars and Stripes.
After Vietnam Michael was stationed at Luke AFB in Glendale, AZ. Where he met and married his wife, LeQuita, in June of 1970, six weeks before being honorably discharged on July 29th, 1970.
Michael graduated from Arizona State University in May 1973. After a 30-plus year career as a finance advisor, he retired in September 2016. Michael joined DAV in September of 2015 and has been heavily involved in DAV East Valley Chapter 8 as a volunteer Chapter Service Officer. He has held the position of Junior Vice Commander for the Chapter, and is also DAV Dept of Arizona Benefit Legislation State Representative.
Michael has been very heavily involved in the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB) for over 20 years, including being the longest-tenured chairman of the NFIB (Az.) Leadership council. During that tenure, he spoke before the (AZ) House Ways and Means Committee as well as the (AZ) Senate Finance Committee on issues affecting small business.
