PN1 Carol Ellis, USN
Shortly after I graduated from High School I enlisted in the United States Navy in September 1982. After boot camp I attended Personnel Specialists “A” school. After “A” school, my first assignment was aboard the USS Dixon home ported in San Diego; from there I was transferred to Personnel Support Detachment Misawa, Japan, then to Fleet Training Support, San Diego. My last active duty assignment was at Personnel Support Detachment Wahiawa, Hawaii. In November 1988, now married and the Mother of two little girls, duty days and a Navy Wife led to my decision to leave my active duty service. The Navy moved our family to Submarine Base Bangor Washington and I joined the Navy Reserves and was assigned Submarine Squadron 17, Detachment 1322 at Naval Reserve Center Bremerton Washington. In 1998 I left the Navy Reserves as a Personnel Specialist 1st Class.

At completion of my active duty I completed my Bachelors of Science, and an MBA. My civilian career consisted primarily in Administrative Management and Professional Training Instruction.

In 2012, now a disabled Veteran I wanted to find something that would allow me to give back. I joined the Disabled American Veterans and began my service as a Chapter Service Officer here at Chapter 8. I have never had a more gratifying position in my entire career; it has become my mission in life to help my fellow veterans.
